Elmira College, or EC for short, is a coeducational private liberal arts college located in Elmira, which is a city in the US state of New York, in Chemung County (serving as its county seat), with a population of nearly 31 000 inhabitants, according to the 2000 census.
The college was established in 1855 and is noted as the oldest college still in existence, which granted degrees to women that were the equivalent of those given to men.
